In Loving Memory of Pope Francis
🕊️ In Loving Memory of Pope Francis 🕊️
With deep sorrow, we share in the grief felt across the world at the passing of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. Announced by Cardinal Kevin
Farrell, Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber, from Casa Santa Marta, the Bishop of Rome returned to the Father at 7:35am.
"His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity,
courage, and universal love—especially in favour of the poorest and most marginalised."
At Centacare NENW, we mourn alongside the global Catholic community and beyond, and we give thanks for the life and legacy of Pope
Francis—the 266th successor of Saint Peter and a humble shepherd of God’s people.
Pope Francis inspired us all with his compassion, humility, and his unwavering commitment to justice and mercy. His leadership reminded us
to walk beside the vulnerable, to embrace those on the margins, and to serve with authenticity and love.
His landmark encyclical Laudato Si’ urged us to care for our common home and to commit ourselves anew to peace, dignity, and human
flourishing. This echoes through Centacare’s own mission:
"…to enable individuals, families and communities in the Catholic Diocese of Armidale to reach their potential and enjoy the fullness of
life."
As we reflect on his life, we recommit ourselves to the work of building a more compassionate and inclusive society—one transformed by God’s
love and animated by the legacy of Pope Francis.
🙏 We invite you to join us in prayer:
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
